When a mysterious mountain man called Mister Grizzly appears at a church camping trip, young Aidan and his fellow Tread Scouts expect stories about wilderness survival. Instead, they hear something far stranger.
Through a series of campfire tales, Mister Grizzly recounts an ancient conflict older than the mountains themselves—a story of pride, rebellion, and a failed attempt to overthrow the Creator.
But this isn’t the story from the hero’s point of view.
It’s the story as seen through the eyes of the Adversary.
As Aidan listens beside the fire, familiar biblical events take on fresh life through vivid allegories of wildfires, lions, and dragons. And at the center of it all stands a hungry man in the wilderness—a man the Adversary is certain he can break.
Blending adventure, humor, and biblical imagination, Adversary: A Campfire Story is a family-friendly retelling of Christ’s temptation in the wilderness that invites readers to see the faithfulness of Jesus with fresh wonder.
